Dr. V.Puri Memorial Award
With a donation from the family of Dr.V.Puri , the Indian Science Congress Association has instituted Dr.V.Puri Memorial Award in 2011 to be given annually to a distinguished Scientist of the Country in any branch of Plant Sciences. The award will be given to a distinguished Scientist of the country in any branch of Plant Sciences.
The Award will carry a cash amount of Rs.10,000/-,citation and A Plaque. The awardee is entitled to T.A.
(Train Fare - A.C. Three Tier) D.A. (as per ISCA Rules ) for attending the session of the Indian Science Congress in which he/she will receive the award.
The Awardee will deliver a lecture at the annual session of the Indian Science Congress Association in the section of Plant Sciences on a topic of his/her specialization
Nominations for the award are invited from members of ISCA Council and from the Heads of Universities/IITs, Research Institutes and Learned Societies.
Nominations thus received will be sent to three experts one of whom will be the President, Section of Plant Sciences and other two will be nominated by the General President.
The final selection will be made by a Selection Committee comprising General President, two General Secretaries and Treasurer out of the candidates recommended by the experts.
The last date for receiving nominations is July 31 each year.
